Hello,

I hope you are doing well this week. I'm doing great, especially since many of you gave me good feedback following the presentation of Rise, the application that helps you measure your sleep to be in top shape.

If you missed it it's not too late to take a look eye.

πŸ“š How is TikTok disrupting the book industry?

In the series, Tiktok is a tidal wave that impacts the real world, I ask…

No today I want to share with you this article from Fast Company which explains how Tiktok is disrupting the publishing industry by blowing up certain authors or books following reviews from influencers (because yes, some can read…Not all but some).

43 billion!
This is the number of total cumulative views on the hashtag #booktok (contraction of β€œBook” and β€œTiktok” as you guessed) which is one of the strong trends that have appeared on the social network since the start of the pandemic. Concretely, these are users who review books and give their recommendations.

No other social network has had as much impact on book sales until now. To the point that some bookstores even create a corner that brings together the most popular books on Tiktok. In fact, they were seeing more and more customers arriving asking for a book that they had discovered on Tiktok.

The publishers were quick to react since they are now all integrating Tiktok into their social media strategy.

In fact, the social network goes the opposite of the neat aesthetic of Instagram posts and its authenticity fits better with the theme.

Okay and if you are looking for how to keep track of all this news recommendations, I recommend the application Sofa which allows you to create lists of all the films, series and books you want to keep track of.

In the latest episode of Encore Un Podcast Tech, we talk about mental health applications. Depression and anxiety increased drastically in 2020 and 2021. The advantage of these apps is that they are accessible from these small (or large) devices always close to us: our smartphones.

In this 12th episode of Encore un Podcast Tech, we set out to discover these apps. From teleconsultation applications to those offering meditation exercises, you will discover how they work and their sources of income (you have to live well, my good lady).

πŸ€” It makes you think...

While we see the price of gasoline soaring, and electric cars still struggling to establish themselves, this tweet from Mahmood Hikmet has the merit of putting things into perspective.

Basically Zoom has done more to reduce emissions of Co2 than electric vehicles.

Simple and basic…
