#70 - ✈️ Before boarding

Hello
I hope you are well! I'm rather stuck on this edition but as I committed to it I remain regular even when the conditions are not all met.
As I write this message here is my view but that won't stop me from throwing my selection of links at you!

🧵How to make pro-threads on Twitter?
If you hang out a little on Twitter you couldn't have missed the discussion threads (or threads) which are the modern version of the blog post, namely a way of expressing ideas in more than 280 characters.
It's one of the formats which generates the most engagement but it must be recognized that Twitter is ironically not the best tool for creating discussion threads.

Wanting to test the format, I looked at what tools made it easier to create threads and I came across 2 interesting applications.
- Threadstart.io: the simplest and most powerful. It has a hyper-complete editor, stats, schedules and even a preview. It’s a gem except that it pays off very quickly. Very little for me compared to my use.
- Typefully: A little less sexy and practical but perfectly functional in its free version without going to the checkout. So I passed on it.
If you want to see what my test thread looks like it's here.
👨✈️How to squat the best airport lounges? I asked if there wasn't a way to "upgrade" my passenger experience.
That's how I came across Lounge Buddy which allows you to access the best airline lounges from around twenty Euros.
You choose your airport, the terminal and you then have access to the list of lounges available and their available services.

Well unfortunately at the time of my flight there was no lounge available in my terminal but I'm not saying my last word😉.
In the meantime if you have the opportunity to test, don't hesitate to give me your opinion in comments.
✈️Uber wants to become the ultimate travel app
Uber is a fascinating company. It started as an alternative to taxis and has since constantly innovated, each time trying to extend its services.
Just see what the app offers today when you open it:

And it’s not over…
A recent article from CNBC tells us that the VTC giant plans this year to integrate trains, planes, hotels and other car rentals into its application in the UK.
The objective? Be the reference app for all transport needs.
Uber will not develop these services but will rely on external partnerships by taking a commission on reservations made via its application.
I strongly believe in the principle of meta applications which allow access to a multitude of services via a single entry point. The credit card being registered, invoicing is transparent. It's a bit like the Amazon model which manages purchases, shopping, Kindle, streaming with Prime video all with a single account.
To see if Uber will manage to legitimize the extension of its services but it has so far been rather successful with Uber Eats...
