πŸš— The hidden (plus si) face of Uber

It's been a long time since I did a little series recce for you (since the excellent White Lotusin fact). This time I wanted to talk to you about Super Pumped the series which tells the story of Uber and its founder Travis Kalanick.

Why should you watch?

Uber has established itself in just a few years as a major player in tech. Firstly by disrupting the taxi industry and then the food delivery industry. Only all this was not done without breaking a few rules...well Ok all the rules, whether moral or legal for that matter.

The fault of its creator Travis Kalanick a megalomaniac founder like Silicon Valley knows how to do them.

By watching this series, you will discover:

  • How Uber made the regulators bend?
  • Why Uber broke the codes of VC (funds of investment) by imposing its rules?
  • How toxic was the atmosphere for women
  • The war with Google because of a flirting affair
  • The $25 million party

It's easy to watch and the casting is 4 stars. A season 2 is already planned around the story of Facebook 🍿.

It's available on My Canal from today.

🧠 Knowledge manager: The masters of knowledge in business (the example by Alan)

knowledge management is literally the management of knowledge. It can be fascinating on a personal level (I'll talk to you about it soon with the second brain) but it's simply vital in a company so that the knowledge does not disappear each time an employee changes position.

The truth is that most companies are quite bad in the field because they lack a culture based on written.

This is less true in certain startups and I wanted to talk to you in particular about Alan one of the French unicorns who wants to be your health partner.

Alan did not have 200 employees when his CEO decided to create a Knowledge Manager position in 2019: a person responsible for organizing all the company's knowledge...nothing than that.

This person is Anna Gombin and she speaks magnificently about her job and its challenges in this article.

And yet with her background as a humanities graduate, she did not necessarily have the vocation to end up in a unicorn managing knowledge.

You can see how Alan uses Notion to manage his processes, his documentation, his onboarding process and how to ensure that each knowledgeable person documents their expertise.

If you prefer listening to reading, I will also share with you the podcast in which I discovered Anna and her job.

Inspiring.

πŸ—£ Discord: the 3.0 forum

In the last episode of our podcast, Remi & I talk to you about Discord, an application initially developed for online gamers and which has established itself as the ultimate tool for leading a community.

No more forums that made the heyday of the web in the 2000s, Discord offers you audio, text, video all in an application available everywhere and of course on mobile.

So now Discord is of interest to a much broader target: NFT enthusiasts, influencers and so on.

If you want to know more, go listen to the episode below πŸ‘‡ or here on Youtube.

πŸ₯– Paris in 1920 in colors

To finish I wanted to share with you a pretty cool video of Paris in the 1920s.

The colorization brings a real plus in terms of realism and allows you to see everything that changed (but also what doesn't change) in a century.

Notre Dame, the grand boulevards, the cafΓ© terraces, the Place de l'OpΓ©ra, the Parc Monceau and the crazy class of people in the cafΓ©s who gaze amusedly at the camera.

Hopefully you like it.
