#109 - 📸 Undiz replaces its models with AI, ChatPDF and the success of vocals explained

This week I still have a nice selection of nuggets for you:

  • 📸  When fashion takes advantage of generative AI to replace models
  • 🚇Citymapper which gives us a nice gift
  • 🙋‍♂️ When a PDF responds to your finger and eye
  • 🔊 Why young people are fans of voice notes ?
  • 📱Which social networks should you use in your communication?

The latest Undiz campaign was generated by AI

Undiz, the young brand of the Etam group has just launched a new kind of poster campaign since it shows models underwater to illustrate their new collection of swimsuits.

Only what is special about this campaign is This is because it did not require any model since it was entirely produced using AI.

The initial idea was to limit the constraints induced by taking an underwater photo. The brand relied on the CowBoys agency which has just launched a studio specializing in artificial intelligence.

The creation of this campaign was the occasion for quite a few internal debates but it is clearly stated on the poster that it was generated by an AI.

In any case, I find it interesting to see agencies appropriating these new tools by trying to see what they can bring in terms of creative opportunities and starting to ask themselves questions ethical.

The underside of the Undiz campaign generated by AI
Ready-to-wear brands are also adopting AI. This is Undiz, in this case. The Etam group brand - which uses Mid Journey, Stable Diffusion and especially ChatGPT tools internally on a daily basis - turned to image generation for its swimwear campaign for…

🚇 When the best transport app offers you even more for free!

We were laughing about it a few months ago with Remi when launching the SNCF Connect app, managing public transport cannot be improvised, especially when you have superb applications already well established.

I am thinking in particular of Citymapper (iOS / Android) which is the domain reference. In recent years, Citymapper introduced a paid offer which was not expected to be a hit but which brought some well-thought-out features:

    • Calculation of mixed journeys
    • Access to the shortest journey
    • Voice indications
    • Travel tracking from the home screen on iOS

Having tested it at the end of 2022 I loved it without being ready to add a subscription to the back.

Good news, since its last update, Citymapper has made all of these features accessible for free. There is still the paid version if you want to get rid of the ads, which I think is a good compromise.

    To be tested urgently!

🙋‍♂️ChatPDF: ask any question to a PDF

PDFs are one of the most used means of gathering and share a large amount of information. Whether it is a study, a book or even simply a user guide.

Only PDFs have a huge flaw, it is not easy to find the answer to a specific question. Until now the most effective way was full text search.

    In short, not practical...

Except that GPT is precisely an excellent way to have a clear answer to a question that we ask on a knowledge basis.

It is from this observation that was born ChatPDF which allows you to load a PDF and then be able to query it without any problem.

I did the test by loading the instructions in English for a kitchen appliance that I just bought and I asked a few questions in French.

Once the PDF has been digested, ChatPDF offers me several questions but I can of course ask the ones I want

As simply as a ChatGPT query, ChatPDF gives me the right information by telling me which page to refer to if I want to know more.

The use cases are limitless and this remains one of the implementations the most practical of GPT in my opinion.
The tool is available for free if you upload PDFs of 120 pages maximum.

🔊 Why are young people fans of voice-notes?

    7 billion!
This is the number of voice-notes exchanged daily on Whatsapp. Impossible to escape, vocals are a means of communication increasingly used by young people. According to a recent study, 43% of 18-29 year olds send voice notes at least once a week.

Paradoxically the classic telephone call is left aside in favor of asynchronous notes which allow more emotion to be conveyed than text messages.

The subject is fascinating and a recent article from Vox explains the reasons for the success of this mode of communication.

This is also the subject of the last episode of our podcast:

📱 Which social networks should you use in your communication?

This is the question we tried to answer last week during a live event organized by Canalchat Grandialogue.

With Stephany Kong and Vincent Pastorelli we responded to questions from many spectators including:

    • Do you still need to go to Facebook Meta when you are a brand?
    • How to develop a community?
    • What place for Twitter in a communication strategy?
    • Is TikTok a good choice for a brand?

If the subject interests you, don't hesitate to consult the replay and to give you a digest of the best moments:

And that's it for this week!
