Magic Eraser: Google’s AI that saves your vacation photos

Why am I talking to you about it?

Because with Google Photo's magic eraser, your last selfie on the beach will no longer have that family of tourists having a picnic right behind you.

If you're like me, you've probably already had this frustration of taking THE perfect photo, the blue sky, the perfect angle, your look at its best... and bam! A passerby, a pigeon or even a plastic bag ruins everything. Well, today I would like to tell you about a magical thing that will change your life: the Google Photo magic eraser. No, it's not a wizard's wand, even if frankly, it looks like one!

🪄So, how does this little marvel work?

Imagine that you are in Rome, in front of the Colosseum. You have your gelato in hand, your sunglasses, and you want to take this shot that will make all your followers dream.
But then, three teenagers decide to go skateboarding right behind you. Before, I would have just sighed and waited 20 minutes (or taken 300 photos and hoped one was good). But today, with this feature, I take my photo and erase those teens with just a few clicks. Magic, right?

✏️ My experience with the magic eraser

The last time I used this feature was at the beach. I had a splendid view of a cove in front of me. But, lo and behold, a group of tourists decided to swim just as I was taking my photo. I thought, “Why not try the magic eraser?” And tadaa! Within seconds I had a clear view.

🚨 But be careful!

Even if it's tempting, avoid overusing this feature. Reality also has its charm. Sometimes, these "disruptive" elements add a touch of authenticity to the photo.
I would add that this functionality is only available to owners of Pixels Google smartphones or, as is my case, to Google One subscribers (this is Google's online backup offer).

In conclusion

Technology is there to improve our well-being. And honestly, no longer being frustrated by a ruined photo is a real joy.

So, you too, experience it and have fun! But always remember that perfection does not exist, and that sometimes, it is in the imperfection that the true charm of a photo is hidden.

Come on, I'll leave you, I have a photo of me at the beach to retouch. Who said seagulls don't belong in a photo? ;)
