Nike launches its Metaverse

We talked about it at length with Rémi in an episode of Encore Un Podcast Tech, the Metaverse is the new trendy thing.
And like social networks at the time, everyone wants to be there first for fear of missing the boat.
Nike was quick to seize the interest by launching Nikeland, its HQ on Roblox, the famous video game.

What is it for?
Nike's objective is to capture the attention of some of Roblox's 200 million players by offering them Nikeland.
A space filled with mini-games where you can personalize your avatar using Nike products.
Why is this important?
We really have to see this as the first brick of a completely virtual space in which the brand could create an immersive experience around its universe, its athletes...and of course its products.
Moreover, one of the stated objectives is to ultimately sell virtual sneakers and clothing.
When you combine the success of a game like Fortnite with the sale of skins (appearances for the characters) and when you combine that with the hysteria and speculation generated by the release of a new Jordan model, you can quickly imagine that we are talking about a lucrative potential business that Nike would be very wrong to deprive itself of.
