A new beginning!

I was talking to you about it half-heartedly a few weeks ago, I thought a lot about my online presence following an exchange with a reader.
It all started with small annoyances with Substack, the platform I used for my newsletter, and over deckabges
🧐 A little return in back
When I wanted to launch my newsletter in 2020, I wanted a easy to use and free solution (most services charge based on the number of subscribers).
Substack the platform that was starting to attract a lot of people caught my attention. One of the features that particularly interested me was the management of archives which are available via a mini online site making them easier to search. I like the idea that a person arriving on my site can consult my old content before deciding to subscribe.
Over time my needs have diversified:
- Being able to group certain newsletters by theme (social media, applications, etc.)
- Being able to group together under one roof articles that I had published on other platforms without this generating the sending of emails. emails
- Being able to communicate on podcast without generating an e-mail each time to people subscribed to my newsletter...
Substack quickly found itself limited in the face of these new needs.
I therefore ended up developing a site in addition to the newsletter to house certain articles and group together the main applications mentioned in my Newsletter.
It allowed me to offer a more structured vision of my content than what Substack offered but on the other hand I had to maintain two different platforms which did not communicate with each other.

The solution was not ideal because:
- I was not powering not systematically my site which could remain for months without updating
- The connection with the newsletter was not practical in my opinion copying and pasting the contents, not practical to make a visitor to the site a subscriber…
And the situation only got worse when I launched the podcast with Rémi: Encore Unpodcasttech/">Encore Un Tech podcast with a need to frequently share audio extracts without forcing the visitor to leave the newsletter or leave the site.
That's where Olivier, a reader, told me about Ghost and the reasons why he was thinking of switching his newsletter from Substack to this platform.
I then took a look and after a few hours of testing it was obvious, I had to move.

🚀 The advantages of Ghost
Here are some of the features that I found particularly interesting:
- It is both a site and a newsletter platform
- I can finally dissociate the publication of content from the sending of an email (post without email, email without post and post with email)
- There are dozens of themes that allow you to finely personalize the experience
- The possibility of reserving certain sections of the site for subscribers only
- Access to the registration button from any page
- No more worrying about the security of my platform (I received hundreds of intrusion attempts on my poor Wordpress)
🔥 Gregtaieb.com: the unique address to remember
Now it's simple, everything that concerns me can be found on a single address: gregtaieb.com

- The newsletters of course!
- The articles
- The podcasts
In addition to that everything is classified according to different transversal themes so when I talk about AI, that this either in an article, a newsletter or a podcast you will find the information in the corresponding section.

And if you are looking for a particular content or theme, good news there is an excellent search engine.

🥳 More interactive content
One of the other reasons why Ghost is a solution that caught my attention is the variety of formats offered in the editor and the layout options.

Inserting a podcast episode 👇
Inserting a link 👇
Insertion of content only accessible to subscribers 👇
In short, I'm passing it on but you will have understood that this platform is a real evolving playground which will support me in the coming years of developments on this site.
For the moment I continue to switch my content to Ghost with the switch of all my newsletter archives from Substack (I have 60 left 😅) and I try to publish as many podcast episodes in the dedicated page.
It's a lot of work but the rendering of the posts with the audio, the YouTube video and all the shared links are great!
And as before you can of course leave a comment to tell me what you think 😇.
See you next week 😉.
